Windows 10: Does 10 have anything like "Windows Easy Transfer" yet?
You can still run Windows Easy Transfer in Windows 10. All you have to do is to copy two directories from your Windows 7/Windows 8: \Windows\system32\migration and \Windows\system32\migwiz to your destination system. Place them anywhere outside Windows hierarchy. Run migwiz\migwiz.exe
Tested on my own machine doing W7->W10 and W10->W10
Just understand that Windows Easy Transfer, by itself, does not allow you to transfer apps, only data and settings. It was the "alohabob add-on" that allowed for the transferring of apps, and that is what they pulled from distribution.
Zinstall (mentioned a few posts above) have a tool that transfers programs, too. They have a demo video on the Win10 upgrade tutorial page. It's more expensive, though.

LapLink has PCMover, which also allows you to migrate apps from one PC to another ... it's just that the question was about Windows Easy Transfer.
Thank you for this poset, Works like a charm. Copied to my server for use later.

I've never understood why you'd want to trust software to move your data over, when no one (or not app) will know where you keep your data better than you. I wouldn't want a wizard guessing at my file locations when I know exactly where I keep anything and everything important. Does Easy Transfer do something more than this?
I realize not everyone knows where their files are (like most people in my company), but those aren't the people who would be doing an OS upgrade themselves.
Certainly, almost everyone I know doesn't know where their files are ("You mean to say I have files?"). When moving people to a new computer I have to spend quite a while hunting them out. Last one I did had photos in a temp folder off appdata!
If I'm upgrading someone else's computer, I take an image of the entire hard drive, so I can pull out something we didn't get right away. I first back up their files from all the usual places, then follow that up with an image in case something is forgotten. Then I do the upgrade and restore the files I found, keeping the image for later use when I get the call that something is missing. I do this in a corporate setting and personal.
I do that as well. Nice to have the backstop!
This saved a business a couple of years ago when, after cleaning out all the many infections, I discovered their business files were in a deleted temp folder buried about five levels down!
Does anyone know where I can download the 64 bit files for the migwiz folder and the migration folder. Seems I only have 32 bit computers with Windows 7 around here
Is there any way to delete these system folders.
I don't use them, and I never will. If I delete them though, they are simply re-created.
In Windows 10, how I do not display the "Life at a glance" and "Play and explore" columns of the Start menu?
I'm always amazed how people just PUT THEMSELVES in possible difficulties when using the Net. I know that passwords are a nuisance but those apps that store a "Virtual Safe" on the cloud where you store your passwords so any app...
I've installed Build 10041 and upgrade to 10049 three times now, each time I was able to do a search for Windows Update or Sound which would show me the correct results but this time, I'm not getting the right results. In the past I would do a Reset...
I'm new user of W10 10041 x64 and i need your help for little custom.
Can you help me to delete " OneDrive " in " This PC " ?
