    Hello, strange- you may get more information looking at your Reliability History or your event log (Event Viewer).

    How are you launching the task scheduler?

    Hello, HHCTRL is Microsoft HTML Help Control.

    Attributed historically to some MS updates, some programs.

    What programs do you have installed? You may need to uninstall sthg.

    (Plenty of similar reports found by simply searching using "The description for event id 1903 from source HHCTRL cannot be found")

    This thread gives details of how one user found the cause:

    Dynamics GP Land: Windows Application Event Log fills with Information events: Event ID 1903 from source HHCTRL

    Extract:
    We had found the cause of the problem: If a Windows application that uses HTML Help attempts to run as a Windows Service or other type of background process (such as with Task Scheduler) that is NOT in a Windows user session, the security restrictions in HTML Help prevent it from working. When this happens, Event 1903 is logged to the Application event log. That, in concept, is not a problem.

    The problem, which appears to be poor design, or a bug, is that the HTML Help appears to constantly try and run multiple times per second, which results in a flood of HHCTRL 1903 messages in the Application log. This is annoying, to put it mildly.

    So, now that we had found the cause of the problem, what can be done to "fix" it? The ideal solution is for Microsoft to fix the problem, but since this issue appears to have existed for years, this seems unlikely.

    ========================
    From another thread:
    I had this problem also, with Win 7 ultimate, and found that disabling a task stopped the error, which I was seeing every 5 minutes.

    <Data Name="TaskName">\Safer-Networking\Spybot - Search and Destroy\Check for updates</Data>

    Some people find this is related to a certain program that is installed.

    The point in the last one is not the OS but the program as an example of one someone found this happening with. As to whether that was true of all users- well, probably not, I guess.
