How do i change the default dir when i open up windows explorer

My C: is for OS only
My E: is for all my stuff

I am tired of opening up explorer only to have to click serveral times to get to E:
For example it says quick access or thispc. I want it to default to E: when i open up explorer

Is it possible, and how do i do that?

    Thanks dave

Are you opening File explorer on the Taskbar? If so, by right clicking on the icon you will probably find the E:\folders (the ones you use the most) are listed and you can select them. This should save a few clicks.

You can also create a shortcut of explorer.exe replace the doohickey in there with: E:\ -- save the changes and test it to make sure. You can create any number of such "aimed" explorer shortcuts and store 'em in your utilities folder.

Open File Explorer. Right click on E: and drag to Desktop then release button. Select Create shortcuts here.

That will place an icon on your Desktop that when clicked takes you directly to E:.

Set Explorer to open in Quick access and pin to Quick access any folder you want, E drive included.

File Explorer - Open to 'This PC' or 'Quick access' - Windows 10 Forums

Pin, remove, and customize in Quick access - Windows Help -

Optionally, you can use a third party explorer, which is way more customizable.
