That means that although we have a different approach, you can also test and use a new OS without issues if you so decode. That was / is my point; no reason to worry because basically nothing irreversible can happen.
Right now I can only do limited things with W10 because they have not yet fixed the High Contrast Themes. And without that, I have a very difficult time to operate (because of my macula degeneration). Once they fixed that, I will be in a better position. It is strange that it does not work in many areas of W10 (works in some areas) because in W8.1 it works throughout the whole system.

Guess what!?! You won't have to buy it. Windows 10 will be a free upgrade on every Windows 7 or 8 machine you own. :)
Hmmm, I will se it before I believe it! Maybe free as an upgrade, but I want to do a clean install, and get rid of win8.1 once and for all. If that means I will have to buy windows 10 to get it on DVD or USB then so be it. :)

I'm now running windows 8.1.1 and allready I miss the (allmost) borderless windows from win10, but everything else works now in win8.1.1 .

I will of cource be hanging around here to see, what you all are saying about Windows 10 in the future, as I guess there will come severel new builds before it goes RTM.

I'm not completely sure, but I think this will be an option in the upgrade menu or via an upgrade media. Of course you have to have a qualified/activated existing Windows installation. Booting from this qualified installation you can load the upgrade media and perform a clean install instead of the usual upgrade.

Come on people this will be a free upgrade. If you don't like the way it installs then go out and buy a copy of the new windows 10 when it hits the street then maybe you will be happy. . .who knows. . .

    Hi there

W10 works fine for most apps - but ONE I must have still doesn't work. (SAP plus the SAP GUI - SAPLOGON). Until this app works I can't use W10 for business. (Screenshot of SAP transaction SE80 developing a WEB DYNPRO abap transaction).

Otherwise it works on the whole better than W8.1 or even W7.

    Cheers

Ummm, that's what Burgurne said he would do if it only comes as an upgrade.

    Hi there

unfortunately not -- SAP is a HUGE ERP type of system -- eventually it will work but currently -- no joy --works fine on W7 or VM running W7.

    Cheers
