As I wrote in another post,
I have had numerous problems with my HP Pavilion after upgrading from 7. You name it I encountered it. Finally figured it out !!
Uninstall HP support assistant , HP framework, HP setup(this one is important), HP quick launch (if you don't have it) and HP on screen display from the programs setup'
These HP programs are unnecessary and without a doubt cause problems, especially coming from Win 7, because they were configured for the previous OS. When you need to install drivers you can go to all the individual vendors and download them manually. This is good practice anyway.

After uninstalling all the HP crap, my system runs like a top. Actually better than the previous OS. Win 10 after it is tweaked is an awesome OS.

Let us know how it goes...Good luck
Always ALWAYS uninstall the OEM bloatware.

Search for This PC, click on that, and right click on your c drive and open that up...look for the hp folders and open them, there may be two...open the folders and subfolders and look for hp setup. it will be somewhere in one of the folders. Delete the contents of the folder.
Let me know if you find it

Maybe it's time to check some hardware?
Download PassMark DiskCheckup and see if your hard drive is healthy.
Let it run for a while to have the SMART attributes settle in.

Run CHKDSK on the hard drive to check for and repair errors.

If all checks out, you might want to run Memtest86+ to make sure your RAM isn't failing.

Type sfc/scannow in command prompt as administrator and see if you have any corrupted files. Don't remember if you did this or not

When you right click the start menu, scroll up to command prompt (Admin)...Left click on that , and it will open the admin prompt dialog box... Type in sfc/scannow and press enter. It will take a few minutes to run and will show progress. When its finished it will tell you one of two things. Either it found no integrity violations or there was a problem.
Let us know what is found.
