    Problems since W10 Install

Since the W10 upgrade I have experienced problems.

Firstly in any browser I am unable to use Ctrl c, Ctrl v or any other command that starts with Ctrl. When I press Ctrl the browser immediately zooms to maximum size and I am unable to reduce the magnification at all.

Secondly whenever I use a drop down menu, the menu appears for a split second, then disappears. I am therefore unable to use drop down menus. This happens with all applications.

Thirdly, when I try to use a form filling drop down choice, for example year of birth or nationality, as soon as I scroll down, it scrolls back to the top which means I am unable to make a choice.

These problems have all started since the W10 install. I have run sfc /scannow, chkdsk and anti-malware apps and all report no problems. I have no W10 disc or iso, and do not under any circumstances want to put my data at risk.

Any advice will be gratefully received.

    Thanks

Hi m800afc You could try doing a repair install, by downloading the correct version of Windows 10 that you have installed now.
Doing the repair install will not remove any of your programs, or personal files. Here is a tutorial on how.

Historically, these types of problems seem to run about 50/50 whether it is a problem with the Windows install itself or a problem with the user's account. OldMike65's solution will usually fix problems with the Windows install itself. The fix if the problem is with the user's account is simply to create a new local user account, change it to an administrator account, log into it and see if the problem is fixed or carries over. I would suggest creating a new user account for troubleshooting first only since that takes a lot less time and effort. If the problem does not exist in the new account, then doing a repair of the Windows install itself will likely not fix the problem in the original user's account.
