    Me, either. Changing those Folder options is one of the first things I do on any comp I see.

    Since security is a BIG THING, why on earth do they hide the extensions by default???

    They want everybody to get used to the words. Text Document instead of txt. Looks prettier on a tablet or phone. Playing to the masses.

    Yeah, everything is dumbed down so that any brainless individual can play. It's called extending your customer base.

    You can also control some of those settings directly from File Explorer:
