Help: W10 running extremely slow and/or freezing for 30sec-1min.

Hi. I really need help with W10. I have no idea what's causing it to run so slow. I have Bitdefender antivirus. And Zone Alarm firewall. No viruses were found. Everything comes up clean.

Windows constantly freezes. Like when I click something, it will freeze for about 30 seconds. For example, I'll be reading something or watching something. No problem.

As soon as I click anything. Such as to close a window. Or to open something. Or anything. It freezes for like 30 seconds or more. I have to wait for it to respond. And everything works fine for a bit. Until it happens again. And it keeps happening.

If I'm on a Skype call, it will freeze, and drop the call. If I'm playing a game such as Starcract, as long as I'm in a match, anything I do within the game is fine. Nothing freezes. As soon as the game ends or I click to exit the game or I just click something outside of the game in Windows, I get the 30 sec freeze.

    SOLVED
The solution: I updated my nVidia driver to the latest version. Everything went back to normal, and started working perfect. No more freezing whatsoever.

According to your 'My System Specs' you have Avast as AV, please make sure your 'My System Specs' is up to date.

Please open taskmanager and make 3 screenshots/photos of the taskmanager when it happens, 1 filtered on the CPU, 1 on the memory and 1 on the disk and post the screenshots/photos. This may help us determine what is causing it if any heavily consumption is present.

An update of nvidia display driver via windows update caused mouse lagging and screen freezes for me, a few days ago.

I have disabled driver updates via windows update, uninstalled the display driver, and went back to 361.75 WHQL. All became normal.

Not sure if it is the case for you too, but if you may give it a try alongwith what my respected friend axe0 has suggested.

    Problem solved completely.

Thank you for all the advice and help!

The solution: I updated my nVidia driver to the latest version.

It fixed everything. My system is running perfectly. Where it was constantly freezing whenever I tried to do something. Now everything works perfectly. I can open folders, open the browser, do anything. And it's no longer freezing on me.
