    Plethora of duplicates

I migrated on the provisional basis (ability to wind back to Windows 7) very recently, and have noticed that there a lot of duplicate files in File Explorer, far more than would have been created by chance.

Can someone please tell me if that is usual, and do the items need to be retained? why are they there/

What are the duplicates? Can you post a screen shot?

I'm willing to do, but they're distributed all over the place. Are you concerned about any particular kind of file? I'd say a good majority are duplicates of things like log in details, exel and other document files. All have a bracketed (2) in the name.
