    OS Not found

On my last startup, I got an error screen That says "No OS found" , which of course allows no access to anything. (I am on a borrowed Chromebook for this post) Error 'oxc000000e', reports errors or missing file, sys32/winload.exe. I have a Macrium Rescue Disk that I created, thinking that it loads all that is needed to 'rescue' a downed system, but I did not understand that this is just an app, that required that I create a backup with this app before the crash. I did not. I have several backups on external drives, but as I cannot access the system, I cannot use them. The Macrium Rescue disk app does have tools that gives me an administrative Command window, and it also has a file explorer, that allows copying and moving files, but nothing that will allow opening of apps without Windows. I found the winload.exe on several disks and and external drives and replaced it several times, but to no avail.

As this was a Windows 10 upgrade from Win 7, I tried using my Win7 setup disk, but the 'repair disk' function does not work as it cannot find restore points, and the only option it offers is a 'clean install', which of course will wipe out all my programming and files. Going with the Install Now option, tells me to remove the install disk and allow normal bootup, which of course 'your OS needs repair- missing or corrupt winload.exe.' It offers options 'Press Enter to Try again' and Press F8 for System Settings'. Doing either of these just sends the screen into a strobing sequence but brings up nothing.

I guess I need a MS Win 10 rescue disk or something I can activate via USB that will find, replace, repair, whatever the problem is or just overwrite it with a new file or system. Interestingly, I had 3 OS options on Startup, before this 'crash', but none show on boot up now. I have nothing that will boot Win10 from a CD or USB drive. I am at wits end after 3, 12 hour days trying all that I know how to do and OI need to have this OS restored. PLEASE HELP!!

Hi, This is my first post and I am by no means a Windows expert; however, I did some research and found an article on the Microsoft Answers site that might be of help:

    File - Microsoft Community

I used a search engine with, "oxc000000e winload.exe windows 10" to find the link.

The article speaks to rebuilding the Windows BCD - it seemed to help those whom were booting multiple operating systems.

Edit: I did not post the instructions given from the Microsoft Answers site due to 'copying content.'

Once you get everything sorted out, what you might think about doing is using a disk imaging program (a live disc or USB drive - not an app) to take a 'snapshot' of your drive, and save it to a secondary hard disk. Its a good way to restore a complete disk really quickly without having to reinstall the operating system & programs.

    Hope this helps...

The Macrium Reflect rescue USB/CD/DVD contains a utility under the restore menu for fixing Windows startup problems. Have you tried that?

Kyhi's rescue disk includes EasyBCD which will create/restore a BCD from scratch, it also contains Macrium Reflect as well:
