    Windows 10 Indexing Program

A little bit ago I got this HP Notebook 15. It was originally running Windows 8.1, but I upgraded it to Windows 10. It was a bit laggy for gaming and in task manager I saw that the indexing program was using a lot of my CPU. So being the person I am, I deleted it even though it was in System32. (Don't judge me.) Then I restarted my PC and now I'm stuck without the indexing program. (I can't search my PC and Cortana is broken.)

Run SFC scan, it will restore deleted files.

SFC Command - Run in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

You can use alternative tools to search.

Hmmm... That didn't work. When I type in sfc /scannow /offbootdir=D:\ /offwindir=C:\windows, It prints "The arguments passed to sfc are invalid. The offline windows directory specified points to the online system.'

Use option 3, just run CMD as admin and enter this:

    sfc /scannow
