    ntdll.dll error

    Hi guys,

Am new to the forum and hope I'm posting this in the correct thread!

Have an Acer Aspire XC-705 desktop pc, 16GB ram, Intel HD4600 graphics and have been getting error ntdll.dll when I'm using one of my photo editing programs (Lightroom 2015.4) had been using the program without hitches for two months - the problem usually manifests itself when I use a specific tool in lightroom.

The program last updated the end of January, have tried re-installing windows, Lightroom, carried out sfc/scannow, memtest86 etc and all show no problems.

It has been suggested to me that re-installingMicrosoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2012 might help-would this replace the ntdll.dll file?

Any suggestions or ideas regarding possible solutions would be very much appreciated!

    Thank you

    Hello,

I also googled this and it may be an Adobe problem. The C++ fix does not seem to work for everyone. Another Geoffrey (which may be you) has posted on the Adobe forums https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2101959?start=0&tstart=0

Thanks for your reply - much appreciated -yes that was me, I'd just re-installed win10 and assumed (wrongly ?) that this would have replaced the C++ file and was reluctant to try something that might make it worse - just need to know if re-installing C++ 2012 would replace the ntdll.dll with a fresh copy

By going to the Programs and Features page you can go though each installation of C++ from 2012 onwards and by clicking on Change you get the option to repair each installation. This does no harm and might be worth doing in case there is a connection with your error.
