    So many things don't work

Brand new Dell XPS 8900 with Windows 10 and IE 11. Tried everything I could find on Google to no avail.
    - Can't eliminate the initial password sign-in
    - Can't get Control Panel to stay with Large Icons
    - Can't get Google to be my default browser in lieu of Bing
    - Can't get Edge out of the way so /pdfs will be opened with Acrobatic Reader
    - NVIDIA Control Panel shows up in my Control Panel but isn't accessible

Can anyone help with any of this?

    Settings-Accounts-Sign in Options.
Google has an Extention to ad on to Chrome browser called "Bing2Google" you can dl so when you use the search box in the task bar it will go to google instead of Bing.

If you want Google instead of Bing
Go to the 3 dots ... top right hand corner
    Click scroll down to settings
    Then scroll down to
    Advance Settings
    Click again

Then where it said show the home page on
    Type in Google
    Click Save
Then that will make Google your home Page
Also can do that with Search as well
    Just change that from Bing
    To Google or whatever

    Control panel

    Right click
    Start Button
    Then Control Panel
    Then show icons
Click and then click whatever ones you want
    Small
    Medium
    Large

    On password
    Go to Tutorials
It can be found in there how to do it

RE : Can't get Google to be my default browser in lieu of Bing

Open IE11 > Tools > Manage add-ons > left side, click Search Providers > bottom left, click Find more search providers > select Google > click Add.
Come back to Search Providers window > click Google > click Set as default > click Bing > click Remove.

    Open IE11 > Tools > Internet Options > General tab > under Home page, erase Bing > enter www.google.com > Apply/OK

I never trust an OEM install on any OEM system I've ever purchased, between poor performance, old drivers, and crapware installed.

My suggestion is always to make your recovery discs, put them somewhere safe, then clean install from a blank drive with the latest drivers. It's amazing how much better an OEM system runs once you do this.

RE : Can't get Edge out of the way so /pdfs will be opened with Acrobatic Reader

Do it the Windows 7 way........................
Right click at Start button > Control Panel > View by at either small or large > Default Programs > Associate a file type or protocol with a program > left side, scroll down to pdf and click it> under Current default, it should say Microsoft Edge, in your case > top right, click Change program > locate and click Adobe Acrobatic Reader ( you might have to click More Apps to find it ) > click OK when done.

Thanks for trying guys but NONE of your recommendations worked.
    - Don't want Google to be my home page. Just want Google to open when I want to search.
    - Control Panel does not remember my selection of Large Icons.
    - Google does not show up in the Search Provider window after adding it.
    - Windows 7 way does not work. I set Adobe Acrobatic Reader as default for pdfs and it still open with Edge.

If you have only just brought this laptop. then it is still under warranty.
Take it back to where you brought it from and tell them it has a fault on it

When you click on "More Apps" you should get a box that allows you to check to set the app you choose to Default.
