However the answer has been tried but did not solve it for me. I still have uninstalled app icons showing up. I have deleted "iconstreams", there is no "pasticonstreams" to delete, I have ran registry cleaner, disk clean up, registry search for the apps, c:\ drive search for left overs etc etc etc to no avail. I have the exact opposite problem. One of my programs disappeared from the ability to show up at all in notifications. I also have tried the batch to clear iconstreams and pasteiconstream with no luck. On another system the same program "IS" in notifications and it was also on the other system until this morning. I have not found any method of manually controlling what does and what does not appear in the notifications list. Additionally, some programs when I go under settings , select which icons to show, some of the programs show a black square with no icon yet the program is fine and the desktop icon is there.
