    Weird Hibernation issue

    Hello MS community,
So I have a Sager NP2740, starting with Windows 8.1 and on Windows 10 I have this issue when the computer shutdown it does not actually shutdown but goes into hibernation. When I boot the computer the bios tells me "Resuming Hibernation". I did not have this problem in Windows 7 and I don't get prompted with this if I do a restart or I shut the computer down using a powershell command "shutdown /s". It is not a huge problem but more of an annoyance. My computer is running all day and is shutdown at the end of night as a preference. Any ideas on what is causing the problem. Thanks.

hello, I would start with turning off hibernation in power options /advanced options ,I use option 2 myself ,just download both the off and on files,

Turning off hibernation will also then off the ability to use fast startup.

If shutdown is causing your computer to hibernate, follow these steps

Search for cmd, right click, run as administrator
    Type sfc /scannow

More than likely there is a corrupt system file not allowing the computer to shutdown. Give it a try

Thanks, by following that guide I was able to turn it off. I am not really worried about boot up times thanks to the SSD, it was more of an annoyance because when I tell my computer to shutdown I want it to shutdown as otherwise I would tell it to hibernate.

I don't use hibernate, but I do have it set to sleep, 15 min after I stop using it
