.......... when it prompts for restart..................

    OK. Thanks.
Not a problem. It's interesting to note that your install.esd (assuming it's build 14257 by the date/time stamp) is 2,053,078 kbytes. Mine is larger, at 2,636,311 KB -

(this screenshot from browsing the Macrium Reflect image I captured this morning before letting the upgrade restart)
I wonder if it's because the difference in timing of when I captured mine versus yours perhaps being AFTER install and restart?

You have to snag the Install.esd - before allowing the Reboot...
Just copy the install.esd to another location..

because after the Reboot (upgrade) it is removed..

That was covered in posts #5 and 9. Do you expect to see the difference in size between my install.esd and davidhk's install.esd? Packed versus un-packed ?

The update wasn't showing in my laptop but it is now. Going to snag the 14257 esd on there before I restart it :-)

On Post #3, you said " 14257 is the build." So you have the latest Insider Preview installed.

If that is the fact, then where and how did you get another update for 14257 ?

It was really weird. When I updated to 14251 from prior build I got the source file error so I reverted back to prior build then 14257 came out a few days later and skipped that build and went right to this one

You still have not explained how did you get another update of 14257 when you already have it installed, according to your Post #3.

Perhaps I fail to understand what you were saying which is not surprising as English is my 3rd language.

Duh I am an idiot. DI didn't realize I failed to mention that the 14257 issue in terms of the DISM/Restorehealth was on my desktop. My laptop hadn't been showing the update so I found a way to push it through and now my laptop is going to 14257. I am going go grab the ESD from my laptop via a SD card.

One last question. When I use the ESD to ISO tool...which option in terms of the output do I use when given choice at beginning of program?

Sorry, I do not use the method listed in this forum's Tutorial section.
I have my " esd to iso " method.

I'll let those who do use that tutorial to answer your question.
    Thank you.

    Just a curious question :
Why do you want both a desktop and a laptop running Insider Preview build ?
    Isn't it a bit redundant ?

I have a laptop running Win 10 Home RTM, and one running Win 10 Pro Insider Preview. Even then I am contemplating to do away one of them.
