What's confusing? SFC refuses to run from fresh boot, it says there a system update and must reboot. Reboots dont help and I dont know of any updates. I want to run SFC from a clean boot so it fix all the files, and hopefully kill this malware and let win 10 goto 9926.
At present when tell win to install 9926 it errors out with Failed to install the preview build please try later (0x80240016)

Yes I tried all the applicable ideas in the malware guide....I do not know the file name of my enemy so many of the ideas dont apply ATM

Hitman pro installed and ran and found nothing except a few cookies. The kapersky Tss killer is running now but seems stuck at 40% initialization.

    I do appreciate your help....

What's confusing? Your goal is confusing and your test environment is confusing.
Let's forget about the malware and SFC for the moment and regroup.

Q1: Tell me if your goal is to install 9926.

Q2: Tell me how you have Win10 setup - in a Virtual machine, as a secondary OS in dual boot, or as the primary and only OS.

Post a screen shot of your Disk Management:
    See: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2...creenshot.html

Members have already suggested a Clean install - you don't need to update through Win10.
    easy steps
    1. Download the latest Win10 Preview build ISO on a uninfected machine.
    2. Burn the ISO to a disc
    3. clean out the current Win10 install
    4. install a new Win10 from the disc

See: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1...n-install.html for the full instructions

Once your goal and test environment are clearly articulated, I or another member can help walk you through the full process. Don't overthink it though as you did with the Malware guide (it sounded to me as though you decided which scanners to run and did not run all of them). If you skip a step in the Clean Install, you'll just be wasting your time and wasting my time.

Answer the first two questions and post the Disk Management screen shot. Start there and focus on the goal.
    Step by step.

Q1 the goal is to upgrade 9879 > 9926, not do a clean install. I dont want to reinstall all my apps etc.

Q2 only OS on primary disk 0

Disk Man wont run ATM says I dont have permission to open it.....but there nothing to see there anyway.

    All your apps ?

You shouldn`t have a bunch of apps on a preview, you`re gonna have to wipe it out at release time anyway. You could have had a clean install with all your programs re installed and done by now.

    In the future create images.

Your system can't run system utilities! How are you planning to recover?

    Try these :

    1) Find a restore point before your machine was infected
System Restore - How to Do in Windows 8

    if that doesn't help, try

    2) Refresh Windows
    Refresh Windows 8

if neither work, then you have no choice.

    3) Clean install

    That's all I have - good luck,

    Bill
