Start menu, cortana, windows edge and app store all have stopped today

I have read over every article. did everything it has said. NOTHING has worked. This is really frustrating me. Everything works but start menu, app store, cortana, and edge it seems. I have not discovered what other goodies have stopped. Is there a viable solution with out having to factory restore and lose all my programs. i am running Windows 10 Version 1511 Build 10586.71 on a 64 bit system. Can anyone help me this is really annoying. I have created a local account that seems to work fine.

As of a recent update to windows I've had the following major errors

    1. Start menu is unresponsive
    2. Edge icon in taskbar is missing and unresponsive
    3. Wifi button in taskbar is unresponsive
    4. Can't access settings at all. Tried numerous methods including trying to access it through the control panel
Troubleshooting these issues has been a major hassle as most of the solutions I've found needed access to settings in some form or another.

Also tried an sfc scan and another scan that I've forgotten in an elevated command prompt with no success.

Other threads with the same or similar issues have received little to no helpful responses.

i have done powershell but get red text with errors .. nothing has worked.

I have even tried to do the new local account to switch it to my Microsoft account .. i get the something gone wrong window.. I have been goin around and around all day. I do not want to lose my programs i have my doing a fresh install.

Try deleting (or moving if you are afraid it will hurt your system) the "TileDataLayer" folder from your Users/your username/appdata/local/ folder.

That helped for me and i have been trying to fix this all day

Okay I decided to do a restore to an earlier setting where I knew it was working and that worked. That got all the apps started again. I was able to get to this by doing Windows key + X this opened a dumbed down menu system I selected control panel which let me in to the systems to do a restore to a previous point. And that worked. I was in safe mode when i did this..
I took it out of safe mode and it worked. If you want my step by step i can post it

So basicly I got the same problem. I try do fix it by sfc and dism but it failed to me. Now I moved TileDataLayer to another folder but it also fails to me. Now I'm using my second user, because I got no problem with him, but I want my main user to be usable. Any other ideas guys?

these are the steps I did to get mine back.

    1. Crtl alt delete .. to get task manager
    2. click file
    3. run new task
    4. type msconfig.exe and make sure to check box to run task in administrator
    5. click boot tab
    6. safe mode with network
    7. ok
    8. restart

    once in safe mode:
    1. windows + X
    2. control panel
    3. system restore
    4. restore to point you once knew it worked
    5. let system restore will take some time
    6. once restored reboot it will be in safe mode.
    7. do previous steps to get in safe mode to turn off mode
    8. Reboot as normal after out of safe mode.

this worked for me i hope it work for you all.

Start from scratch. This time turn off Anti Viruses and ALL utilities in your hidden icons and everything in msconfig under services before the reboot confirm if the fix has worked or not. It may be a program you use that is preventing a fix via a bug.

Before any of that run Malwarebytes or something as good and free.
