Get out of safe mode without password

You mentioned your password for Outlook.

I was wondering about trying to access your Outlook account, via another computer. IE: Signing into Outlook. Since you don't recall your password, then your should have some recovery options to access your Outlook account. See HERE.

I guess the goal might be if you're offered a "password hint" of some sort. I don't know if you'd be able to access your computer using a newly created password for Outlook or not, but I tend to think it won't matter.

There's other options too, such as booting with Hiren's Boot CD, which might help if nothing else seems to work.

OK, got really lucky on this one. My Nephew came over with a thumbdrive to try to boot from that. However, he was able to recall one of the passwords to another account that I was able to at least get to the desktop and turn-off safe mode in MSCONFIG. Now I can get into the system. Still have my original problem (which I will create a post for later) but I am back.

My feedback from the experience:
1. Why do they turn off the pen for password to use safe mode? If it's to keep loading extra things for safe mode, fine, but my god at least warn people.
2. You can't do anything in recovery but select boot modes, everything requires an admin login. Where is boot normal? To be able to just boot in normal mode and ignore the boot in safe mode that I put in MSCONFIG would have saved a lot of grief.

I was also trapped in the twilight zone of having forced safe boot in msconfig, causing all subsequent tries to start windows requiring forgotten password. I also tried booting from Win 10 iso and getting to console that way, but "net user" commands could not change passwords on the C: drive. Bcdedit, however, worked a treat . . . Next boot was back to normal, accepting my pin instead of continuing to ask for a password.

I guess I'll start sending my nephew all my passwords, so maybe next time, but until then, thank you topgundcp!

Hi,

I have the exact issue posted (Stuck in safe mode, password doesn't work) where you had suggested getting Rescue6.1.1023x64.iso on a google drive. That link is not good at this time. Was that just a standard Windows 10 64b image or something different. If different, is it still available? If so, where please? If it's just a windows 10 image I can try to find elsewhere... is the 'bcdedit' something on the standard windows image?
