Fix For The Desktop Icons Drop Shadows Keep Displaying Issue

Finally found why unchecking the selection box in System Properties > Advanced Settings > Performance Options > Visual Effects > "Use Drop Shadows For icon Labels On The Desktop" doesn't work to disable the drop shadows under the desktop icons.

In addition to unchecking that option, you ALSO have to:

Go to Windows 10 Settings Panel > Personalization > Colors > (scroll down to the bottom) > and TURN OFF the button that says " Make Start, taskbar, and action center transparent"

Then ReBoot.

Voila! No more fugly drop shadows under the desktop icons.

LMFAO. Did it? Did it really? Press Win key + Tab (desktops), or - for that matter, try dragging a window to side snap half desktop. It's a running Joke at Microsoft apparently. This "bug" has been around since the first version of Windows 1.0 in 1995. It highlights the differences between a company that actually cares about it's visual design and user interface and consumer experience and company that actually doesn't give a damn about it's users at all (namely Apple and Microsoft respectively). It's been reported to them (since 1995) yep folks, 25 years, by literally hundreds of thousands of users. It's more annoying than BSOD - and that is still around as well. Apparently it can't be fixed. Ever. It's too complicated and would break the archaic Windows API (and hundreds of thousands of applications that use it) completely.
