HELP Keyboard (Even On-screen) won't capitalize letters with shift

I can capitalize every letter/symbol except for letters "t" and "m." In order for me to capitalize them, I have to use the caps lock function.

I can't even use the on-screen keyboard to capitalize said letters, it simply doesn't go through.

This might or might not be a hardware issue as I've used two different mostly new keyboards and the function works fine on a different PC.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!!!!!!

    Welcome to Tenforums.com

It is possible that you have a bad keyboard or stucked key(s).

Try to run keyboard test or use one of online keyboard tester:

Pay careful attention to your t and m key!

I tried it. I even used the on-screen Keyboard. The Shift key doesn't respond while I use the M or T key. Even with the keyboard disconnected, the on-screen keyboard gives me the same issue.

Is that a laptop ? Maybe you have to use Fn key.

This sounds like a possible keyboard driver issue. Try uninstalling the driver and rebooting (it will reinstall automatically).

Found out the cause (I think)

Whenever I run the game Fallout 4, it happens. I'll un-reinstall the game but this is odd. Is it the OS?

    MasterT82:

I am not a gamer, so don't my opinion too serious!

This is what I found about Fallout:

If the game seems to be ignoring your mouse/keyboard input completely, go to <user folder>\Documents\My Games\Fallout4 and edit Fallout4Prefs.ini and change bGamepadEnable=1 to 0.
I even disconnected my controller before I launched the game for the first time after having experienced issues with Skyrim in the past, and it still did this shit. Literally the only input it was taking was getting past the "Press any button to continue" screen and then ~ to open the console and Alt+F4. Nothing else did anything and there was no mouse cursor. Even connecting the controller and navigating to the options screen, for some reason I couldn't toggle the controller setting. Incredibly frustrating start to the game.

    Good luck!

You never said it was just one program.

Does it happen when you open notepad?

Did you check drivers as I suggested - not much point in us making suggestions if you do not try (and feedback results).

Hey man, my Z key has had this problem for like years or something. Once i found this, and did it, it finally worked! I could also use the Shift Key and it would respond unlike before! Since it was a removable laptop key, it made quite a weird noise different from the usual key noise my keys would make. So i tried like slightly hammering it with some plastic ( Just light hammering ) to make it sound the same like the others, and it functions like normal! I made this account just to thank you and the others who have helped solve their problems! Thank you so much and God Bless!
