Windows 10.... why oh why
-
However, I have been having a problem with my Acer desktop and my sister's Acer laptop. The desktop is on Acer's list of compatible computers for Windows 10. My sister's however isn't though, but its a better computer than mine. The problem is that each time I boot those 2 computers up, the desktop icon font is black. I have to manually change them to white. I have made a thread about it, but so far no one has responded.
Desktop: Acer Aspire XC603G & Sister's Laptop: Acer Aspire 5749
with out getting into specifics ,desktop and laptops have some big difference ,and one of the main ones is the Processor's ,and then I would say the Video Device they use ,,,,,and that could be what you are experiences

DeaconFrost, what do you mean I have to go back quite a ways to find a processor that will not run Windows 10?
I have come across people claiming to be running Windows 10 on a Pentium 4. So, if true, that means you would have to go back a long way t find a processor that is truly incompatible, meaning Windows 10 would refuse to install.

My sister's computer runs on a Pentium processor. Not sure if it's the 4 or what, but it is older as it came with Windows 7 64-bit and a Legacy BIOS. My system has the AMD E2 VISION processor that came with Windows 7 64-bit with a Legacy BIOS.

I have a Dell Laptop running Windows 10 with a T2390 CPU. I think it was released in 2006-2009.

Mine was released in 2011 - 2012.

OK.... so backed up all files to external HDD and have done a 'clean' install of win10... hoping this will solve some issues... and display driver is now not reporting errors... should have done that from the outset... but see how we go
