Windows 10: File transfer window always opens outside of the screen.
File transfer window always opens outside of the screen.
This has been driving me insane, and I've tried searching it in the search, but can't find a thread.
While I'm transferring a file for example, the file transfer window always opens outside the screen, it's really annoying. Does anyone have a fix? Screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/Tz8uHuP.png
Tried moving it down, and re-opens outside the screen all the time, any help? Thanks.
hello ,Welcome to tenforums,,,,I don't know whats happening exactly ,but lets start with ,screen resolution ,what is it set at ,right click desktop/display settings /advanced display setting/ make sure it set to recommended .
Hi caperjack, I'm currently not running my monitor on native resolution. It's on 1440x1080 stretched, as I play video games on that resolution. I'm also running a triple monitor setup, and if I run a resolution higher or lower that's not set as the default desktop resolution as the game, it will move for example, windows on my right screen more to right.
I think in terms of height for the resolution, it shouldn't be a problem regardless of the decreased resolution. Since it is the same as 1080 height wise.
I'd echo what caperjack said.
I noted that you have your screen "1440x1080 stretched." Are you able to bring the settings back to their defaults, just to see if that's causing the problem? Or perhaps adjust them here and there and then compare?
Hi b1rd, I have tried it just now. Apparently the window goes off the screen now, odd. But of course, I can still move it, but gotta go to taskbar, right click, you know the deal.
It starts at around 300MB/s but after a second it drops to 20MB/s. On Windows 7 it was usually around 100MB/s. This is for transferring to second hard drive. It's even slower transferring to USB drive, about 2 MB/s.
First I'd like you to thank you for all the times you've helped a frusterated little guy with his PC-problems - even thought I never registrered, I've been here quite some times.
Anyways, on to the problem. As the...
Whenever I start to type in the search field, I never get to finish typing because explorer opens a new window right away after the first character.
EDIT: Also, double clicking folders opens a new window as well.
I don't know when this first started happening, I just assumed stuff was transferring fast enough for it to not show up (only really moved small things). However, I got a small-ish SSD as a secondary drive for a few important things and want to test...
It's a Google icon on the taskbar, how can I make it get added to the row of other windows listed at top of screen? W10, Internet Explorer
