    Desktop Icons need frequent "Refresh"

    Folks,

Running a one-month old clean Win 10 install.

I find that my desktop icons frequently lose their shortcut symbol (the little white square with curved blue arrow), or otherwise change. I haven't tried to figure out when or why this happens. It shouldn't. An icon, once placed, shouldn't change.

The fix is to right-click on an open spot and select "refresh".

Again, an icon shouldn't change. Something stops working. Hopefully a patch will fix it.

Not knowing your Computer Specification is hard to make suggestion. But will give a shot anyway!

I encountered this problem with one of my Windows 10 User last year. The problem was ICloud and IPhoto.

First I would check your system file is OK by running sfc /scannow under Command Prompt (Admin).
Next check if you have ICloud, IPhoto installed. Other users reported driver like IDT Audio driver and Windows Error Reporting also caused this problem.
