    How are you testing Win10?

I will plan on installing the January release three ways
    1. Insider Pro: Virtual machine | Preview build update - Hyper-V guest machine a Win8.1 host
This will go on the VM I have been using to test the previous builds.

    2. Insider Pro: Physical machine | ISO - single boot
This will go on a Dell prepped for sale, but I'll use it for a test machine until a buyer surfaces.

    3. Insider Pro: Physical machine | ISO - boot from VHD on my Win8.1 machine
I tried boot from VHD a few different ways before, but have not been successful. It's straight forward, so I must have fat fingered something - user error!
Kari pointed me to a few tutorials - maybe they'll make the difference.

I thought there needed to be decent granularity in the poll selections, but the forum limits the poll choices to ten. Here are the poll selections I envisioned before I knew about the poll limitation.

Same here, I tried the VM method for about 20 minutes when the first build came out but I ditched that effort and I did a clean install so I could dual boot my PC.

    Just running on metal.

I was going to add other [________] to the poll, but can't find the place to edit the poll questions. I'm sure members will figure it out and provide more information in a post.

At least I figured out how to make multiple poll selections possible

Unfortunately, I neglected to pick Insider Pro: Physical machine | ISO update in my own poll - sheesh!

Chose Insider Pro: Physical machine | ISO update dual booting with Windows 7 on separate drives first unplugging the Win 7 drive during installation of 10 then using the F8 key (for my particular machine) at startup to choose which drive to boot into.

I took Build 9926 as an update. It installed without issues. Today, I just downloaded the ISO and did a clean install, just to see if there were any differences, which at this early stage I don't.

I had an extra SSD that I installed Win 10 and will probably boot to this most of the time to test out. I haven't installed any apps, they are all on the Win 8.1 side. I haven't decided if I will or not. Some I definitely would not just because I couldn't afford to hose any of my data.
