I agree that Win10 should allow the user to install a program like that. Nothing wrong with having options IMO.

To my surprise, MS even deleted Calc, something that has 50 KB just to keep up with it philosophy.
OMG you're right, it's gone. I always had that pinned on my Start menu for quick access. That has got be an oversight.

I have a calc, just type[calc] that into search, the icon should popup right click and pin it to taskbar or wherever

Someone had made comment earlier that if you had a lot of applications loaded on your PC, you'd be scrolling for a long time to get to them or even if you organized them at the top, there would still be a long list.

I liked the Start Menu in 9879 but I didn't load any of my apps on that OS version so if I had, maybe I wouldn't have liked.

I suppose I'll continue to use the task bar as my quick launch of apps.

I'm not much of a fan of the new Start Menu. Hopefully there will be more customization options in future builds. One I'd like to see is a folder to actually add application to, and let that expand when you clicked it. MS idea of a folder is adding a Custom Name over the list of icons.

Are you saying it didn`t change the start menu, or you didn`t attempt to change it yet ?

And Thanks for posting the link :)

But it just seems to add a non customizable start menu.

    I don`t recommend trying it.

kind of not a full start menu but you can go down to the taskabr and right click it and open toolbars /add new toolbar and direct it to the loacation of start programs .
mine is found here , C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs, if you do create one it will lok like this .
