Windows 10: Taskbar icons get corrupted
Taskbar icons get corrupted
I'm finding that my clean install of W10/64 gets corrupted "Store" and "Edge" taskbar icons if it's been running for any length of time or if I've been gaming. I haven't tried to troubleshoot or isolate the cause. I've only taken note of the problem. Shrug.
A reboot cleans them up.
Edge has white behind the "e". Store is just a white square. My other taskbar icons are good. See the pic.
1. Clear and reset thumbnail cache

Use Option Two. It's easiest.
2. Foe a good measure, run Icon cache rebuild

Use Option One.
I right-clicked on an open part of the taskbar. That opens up the taskbar menu.
I selected "small icons", apply. That fixed the "edge" icon, though it was small.
I selected "large icons", apply. That fixed the "store" icon. Now all are large, and normal.
HP Envy desktop came with Windows 10 Home already loaded. Set it up with my program shorcut icons in the taskbar. Everything working just fine for days, and then all of a sudden (well maybe not as I had just installed updates from MS) the taskbar...
I've got a Taskbar Icons, like; when I move my mouse to any Icon, the highlight thing that when I move it to an icon stays and never go, and I have to reboot/restart my PC if I have to fix it. It's really annoying me, and it's not the first time.
My taskbar is missing and my icons on the desktop are missing as well the background is dark kindly help:shock:
I have successfully installed Windows 10 ("final') on three devices: One venerable notebook, one "media" desktop computer (in my living room) and my main desktop computer in my home office.
Unfortunately, I have encountered a strange phenomenon...
