Why would I change from Windows 7 to Windows 10

Hmm, see how opinions can be different. The start screen is on my con-list. I toggle the 8.1 start page which I like better. Not so much for the start page itself bit because of the apps page where I can orient myself easier than in the left pane of the start menu.

I have one showstopper right now - they did not integrate the modern UI with the high definition themes. I need high def so that I can read what's on the screen and all modern UI pages are unreadable in high def. I hope they fix that by RTM.

High def is not a new feature. It has been there all the time. But now they ruined it.

I guess when I was testing windows 10, I should of asked "How to switch to the start screen mode". I never knew you could till later. I would of really liked to have tried the start screen on my desktop computer. I never said I didn't like the start screen.
