The new Start Menu doesn't impress me at all, I rarely used the Start Menu since my Win 2000 days and didn't miss it at all when they removed it from Win 8. I don't use the Start screen either and have no use for 3rd party programs like Classic Shell. There are so many other ways to access the programs on your computer that a Start screen/menu seems redundant to me.

What I have seen of Win 10 so far is OK but it certainly doesn't wow me enough that I will jump at the chance to upgrade my existing systems to it. I also don't care for upgrade installs so I hope when MS provides free upgrades they provide the option of downloading an ISO so I can upgrade via a clean install should I decide to to move to Win 10.

I know why you are getting confused. Some sites are linking to a malware version of this program. I downloaded using MajorGeeks. MajorGeeks keeps badware at bay & also warns you if the program had additional software included. There are a few sites that recommend it, then link to badsite, not necessarily intentional though. I also scanned the program with spybot S&D old version & MSE nothing found.

Edited, I finally found some with bad reviews, go figure. However, that now makes me because I trust MajorGeeks. MajorGeeks has also claimed they kept badware at bay. They even posted over at the Windows 7 forum occasionally.

I never got the chance to try out the Start Screen when I had windows 10 preview installed. So, I looked for a program. Then found it a Majorgeeks. Then I downloaded. I did some further searching about IOBit and found bad reviews about them. Well I can quickly test it an get rid of rid of using and image restore.

It's actually a pretty sophisticated piece of software.
It's got a Charms Bar! woot woot!

I think it's 'nosey' software though! Be cautious!

And, uncheck this, and anything similar during installation!

I just tested out. I didn't install the advance systemcare ultimate. I used an image restore to get rid of it. I really don't see what the big deal is start screen vs start menu. I could take one or the other. You should be able to do is turn off, remove, add, and resize the titles. The app and/or start menu program list should be alphabetical. I do agree you should have the option to choose start menu or start screen regardless of what device you use.

And why does one need a charms bar, all that stuff is here.

I have all that stuff right on my start menu. Either right click or left click.
