    retail windows 10 USB questions

Does the windows 10 Home USB drive that you buy at your local electronics store contain both the home and Pro editions or just the home edition.

reason being that I used the free upgrade to windows 10 pro on my laptop and my HDD crashed now I need to load a fresh copy of 10 on to it and I only have a USB drive for 10 home.

I have no problem downloading the ISO, but at the speed of my internet that will take about 24-26 hours depending on the traffic with the ISP.

    Thanks ahead.

When you buy a Windows 10 Home at the store, you also buy the license key which you don't need. If your internet speed is slow, maybe you can ask your friend or family member who has fast internet to download for you then re-install to a new HD on the same PC. Windows should be activated automatically

If the retail USB only has Windows 10 Home on it, then install Windows 10 Home. Go to the activation screen and change the product key to Windows 10 Pro:

The download to upgrade Home to Pro will be much smaller than the entire ISO download. If you had Pro activated before on that computer, it will activate again.
