    When I type "control" box closes immediately. If I type "notepad" it comes up. Didn't see anything in event viewer that stood out.

    You might see if one of the options in the tutorial below may work for you to open the Control Panel with.

    Ran DISM and found no problems. Finally got it to open from file explorer and now it opens from everywhere I try. No clue as to what the problem was. This is first time I tried to open from file explorer.

this is probably a dumb question, but I want to delete a program and can't find the control panel. I've looked in settings but don't see it anywhere.
