I'll use 10, I wont bother with my Windows 7 machines, well my desktop is getting on a bit as it came originally with Vista before I installed the Retail copy of 7, I got that when they did the promotion deal at launch.

It will be nice if they did the same again with 10 but if not I'll upgrade this Asus Notebook which came with 8 and is upgraded to 8.1.

I'll do my phone as well, that runs 8.1 Denim, but as I'm due an upgrade on that in a few months it will probably be easier to do it with the new phone.
I'm using 10 at the moment but via a VM and like it so don't see any problems going over to it full time when it's released.

Oh okay. Well, I think Microsoft has it right this time. But, I could be wrong. The only reason why I would like to upgrade mine is because of the Apps, and the Mail App. Going to the Mail App is a lot more convenient on my Mom's 8.1 desktop, than going to the internet to check my mail on my Windows 7 laptop.

Well.. I've never used Windows 7. I like Windows 8.1 and I really like what MS is doing with Windows 10, I think they're heading in the right direction.

Windows 8.1 doesn't bother me. Windows 7 doesn't bother me. But, there is another reason why I want to upgrade. That reason is because I don't want to lose the security of updates when 7 goes obsolete.

In my case, it has a lot to do with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy. Win 7 is meeting my needs. I also prefer to wait until it's been out for a while to give it time to have the inevitable bugs worked out and to make sure there won't be issues with hardware and software compatibility.

One reason is the Grey theme, I tried windows 10 preview earlier version never could get the exact color and application background. See screenshot.

    Other reasons,

    I use 1280 x 720 resolution, 1600 x 900 is way to small for me.

Normally, I could handle the eye candy and the bright themes but unfortunately my eyes can not, so I need a dull theme. Which I am going to ask about in another thread.

I have a dual boot with Linux, the resolution I use is 1300 x 768 depending on the desktop. I don't want windows 10 free windows update install to mess with my Linux system installation.

In some cases hardware may not be compatible even Microsoft said that in there disclaimer.

I would also prefer Microsoft mailing me a usb flash drive 2.0 and/or DVD install disk instead of using a windows 10 free update install.

I checked my hardware. From what I could see, it looked mostly compatible.
