Since W10 is free, I will upgrade my copy of W8.1 and keep my copy of W7 intact.

In a nutshell, nothing, nothing at all for the desktop.
To be fair MS, did introduce improved Window Snapping in b9841.

Of course they broke it in b9860 and they haven't bothered to fix it (i.e. restore the b9841 functionality).

Improved for desktop programs with 1/4 screen snap. But they broke it for Metro Apps. What worked before no longer worked for me as far as Snapping metro Apps went. I couldn't snap at all on my 1280x1024 monitors where I could in the past snap two apps. On my 1080p screen I could snap 3 Apps, that went to 2 after the update. A big step backwards for me with my 3 monitor setup.

It was better than just 1/4 snapping (in b9841).

I don't use any Metro Apps.
I have seen comments from other TenForum members saying App Snapping is broken.

Yeah, it was dependent on monitor size/pixel count. In any case, it got worse for me in Windows 10 than it was in 8.

I'll have it installed as well. Weather free or pay.
I'll be ready to upgrade by then anyway.

I'm very happy with it so far and I'm running it as my primary. Heck, I used it about 95% of the time so why not.

Ghee, I missed all the fun. You guys were really at each other's throats. A 'discussion' like that is really uncalled for. Well you got one banned out of it. But back to topic:

I am not certain yet to what extent I will 'upgrade' to 10. I will certainly get at least one license. But whether I will commit all my systems to 10 is very unlikely. My wife who uses half of them does not like change anyhow. All systems run perfectly and why fix it if it ain't broke.

Same with my wife, she wants a windows 7 laptop to replace her old one. Can still find them but getting more expensive. Local shop still sell new W 7 laptops.
