Windows 10 reassociate .jar files to java

I was trying to open a jar file, so I opened with any other program like adobe reader, didn't work.

I realized I needed to install Java, and did, but now it wont choose java as one of the apps to use to open it.

EDIT: I've tried a lot of things before asking this, including downloading Java, setting it's destination to the desktop, and tried using the executable files in that to run the .jar, so now I can't tell if any of those files are the correct Java.

    See if this will help:
go to settings, System, default apps, choose default app by file type....see if you can set .jar file....

Question: What are you trying to open a jar for/in? It would really help figure it out.

    A pokemon universal randomizer.
I know the program itself works as I just downloaded it on a different computer and it worked great.

I guess that helps...? Anyway, what is used to launch this "randomizer"? A executable? A batch file?

In that case what happens when you run the executable?

Well, it depends, when I use one of the java options, nothing happens, but when I use any other option, it doesn't work for more obvious reasons, like adobe reader.

Because I'm not familiar with the program, I don't understand what you are trying to do with it. It would not be wise to set this program to open all .jars so here's what I suggest; drag the jar into the .exe. If that doesn't work, try replicating the settings of the program from other PC to the one you've got, considering it works. Otherwise, I've got no clue.
