    I've updated my system specs.
I was told that SiSoft Sandra may be able to fully test my mobo, I may try it out.

    My original question still stands:
What's the best way to test my mobo? I mean EVERYTHING; including all Sata, Video, Lan & USB ports.

Dudes and Dudesses...... A word, from an old and very well worn Computer Tech.

I'm running Windows 10, 9926 on my ten year old, home made PC, with an AMD 2X, 64 bit, 5200+ CPU and 4 GB of DDR2 Ram, on an MSI motherboard, that's been out for capacitor replacements twice. Yes, I did the work.

W-10 is installed on a spare, Seagate, 360GB SATA II hard drive, sitting on the desk beside my Desktop (tower).
My main 1TB drive inside the desktop, is unplugged, for safety, as well as my 1TB Backup Drive.

If W-10 can install on this old PC, with all my hardware working, it should install and run on just about anything.
But, don't install W-10 on your main hard drive, , , put it on a separate drive, because if it can see your main OS, it may Futz with it.

Above all, remember, that Windows 10, 9926 is a Beta Test version of an OS that won't be finished and released for possibly many months yet. So don't try to use it for your personal banking or other bookkeeping. Big Brother is Watching!

    Cheers Mates!

Install W10 on a flash drive. That's the easiest. Here is how.

Well, that's not really true. There's a lot of old hardware out there that just isn't supported by Windows 10. For instance, any CPU that doesn't have the NX bit. Also, Just try getting it to run on an old S3 video card or Matrox might even be difficult.

Glad you have some common hardware that's still supported, but frankly, i'd say you're more lucky than anything else...

I received this reply from SiSoftware concerning their Sandra product:
"No. There is no hardware test since such tests are not possible in Windows since hardware is "owned" by their respective device driver; only if the driver were to have a test function that could be achieved.
Most BIOSes - especially UEFI - have diagnostics mode which can test hardware since no OS is running.
Sandra's benchmarks can tell you whether the hardware is operating normally, e.g. SATA ports running at the right speed, USB2/3 transferring at the right speed, LAN pings/transfers at the right speed, Video/GPGPU does not throttle, etc."

So I'll check if my mobo's BIOS has a diagnostics feature I can use. My mobo is pretty old & I just want to make sure all is working ok & that I don't need a new mobo soon.

You can just run a benchmark program like: Download and monitor parameters like temperatures and voltages. It will load up computer and whole system to it's limits and any weakness will show up.
Download | wPrime will concentrate on CPU, RAM and everything in between, it will stop and show you if and where a problem might show up.
MemTest86 - Download now! (use free edition) will test RAM.
Download Western Digital DLG Diagnostics - MajorGeeks will test your HDD and Download Passmark DiskCheckup - MajorGeeks will show your disk's SMART attributes.
http://crystalmark.info/software/Cry...k/index-e.html will give you your HDD's performance.
