So far I am mostly liking what I see
Not a fan of the full screen start menu though, but need to see some more info/test it out
For a free upgrade, it's a yes from me
Free for the first year. Still didn't hear anything about after that.
After that they will charge for the upgrade is how I take it. I still don't take it as a subscription base based on the speech.

It is good to have everyone's opinion, but I must say Hater's gonna Hate
I was under the impression that 10's goal was to fix the mistakes of 8/8.1, namely the focus on metro.
All I've seen so far, in general, seems to be metro repackaged. What the hell was the point...??
Where are the desktop improvements...??

I don't agree. It was described as a "service". To me that means $/year.

Dunno about that "first" year implies 2nd, 3rd etc.. otherwise they would have said for "one" year... maybe we are reading too much into it - let's wait for confirmation.

DX 12 for one. And I like windows 8.1 which I use in desktop mode, as has been told to you before, you can avoid metro.

New build of Windows 10 to be released next week.
Windows Phone 10 to be released after Super Bowl February 1st 2015.

Cross platform play will be cool once it's fleshed out. XBOne streaming is nice, but I'd really like the ability to play older 360 games on my Windows 10 PC. I don't see that ever happening though.
