    Safe mode..

So, I encountered a virus that prevented me from using my antivirus. Consequently I entered safe mode to try to use my antivirus. I realize now that that makes no sense, since apparently you can't make analysis in safe mode. But that's is not the point. When I tried to leave safe mode I saw that the check mark was already ticked off. Just in case I ticked it again and unticked it to see if that would exit safe mode, but appearentry it didn't. So I tried to enter 'real' safe mode, which f*cked up my computer. First my screen was all zoomed in and I couldn't use anything. When I left safe mode, I still returned to the state I described earlier(practically safe mode(no wifi, sound etc.) but the checkmark was not ticked. Next I tried it again, but this time I ticked safe mode not on minimal but on active directory repair. Now I cannot enter my desktop. The screen is zoomed in on the screen where you normally enter the password, with no option for me to enter the password.
Does anyone know how I can get out of the home screen and leave the safe mode?
Do you think it has something to do with the virus or is it just my incapability?

Hi Albert and welcome to Tenforums.

I'm not sure what checkmark you're referring to, but if you've got an infection, perhaps you should try the Kaspersky Rescue Disk. You would need to download it on another computer, and burn it to a disk. Then boot your infected computer from it, and run the scan. More on how to use it here:

Once you have the infection cleared, you should be able to normally boot into the OS.

Ok, thank you for the information. I'll be sure to try this out. But I still not certain of how I am supposed to get out my home screen. When I boot my computer I am stuck in the lower corner of the home screen with no option for me to enter my password. The check mark I was referring to is the safe mode one in the boot tab of the msconfig window
Again thank you for your help, and I hope that someone can help me with this!!

Ah, okay. So, once you've cleared out the infection(s), you can boot into advanced recovery and restore your system to an earlier time, using a restore point from BEFORE you got the infection. That should get you to the login screen.

Actually, if you have a restore point that exists from before you were infected, you should be able to restore your system to that, and not be infected either. (I would still be running scans though - sometimes these infections sit on your computer and execute at a later date.)
