Essenbe, I am positive about most things in my life, but sometimes PC organizations like MS and FF do not leave us the options we like. "Just old and set in my ways" not true at all. I am different also, I like what I like. I have W 7 on my desktop and I will use it and a desktop as long as I can. My laptop is a different story, I bought it to play games on and watch movies when I travel. I like to try new things and will use it to learn 10. I also have FF 28 on both, I found a way to stop FF from over riding my "do not update settings". That was really fun. :)

Emma, they have fixed some issues with Firefox 35.0 the bookmark .json file and some other issues. Don't know if it will restore old json file but it is back to working for the current version both restore & backup at least it did for me.

I've found that while using FF the updates can be buggy at times. Try using the ESR. It's a very stable version that gets security updates, is very current and you don't have the bug issue.

    Hi there

Things like FF are 3rd party applications so if they don't work like they did before or not to your liking it's hardly the fault of the OS --it's up to the developers to fix it.

As far as W10 itself is concerned I haven't had too many problems with it especially at this stage in its life / development cycle.

Let's see what the builds nearer to the final release bring.

    Cheers

I like FF much better than IE partly because of the ad ons, ghostery, wot, no squint and adblock plus with the easy list. The problem with FF was just me, I condense my tool bar at the top to one line and they took that option away. I like a clean look to my computer instead of a busy one, I like lists instead of tile. I only have 4 folders on my desktop, recycle, my computer and my folder and a misc one on the far left bottom with things I am working with, all icons match my desktop wallpaper. I have FF V 28 installed in a folder in my documents and an updated one in programs that I don't use. I will update it and see if they have changed the tool bar. Thanks for that info.

No squint is really a neat little ad on. It zooms text and background, if the bright white of pages bother you, no squint can change it to any color you want.

With Office and Window live email, I condense the tools to the quick access bar just to get rid of the busy look.

I will check out Pale Moon, thanks.

I didn't like some points in build 9841, but hated everything in 9901 !

If things keep going this way I wont move from 8.1...

9901 is a leaked build and it is very buggy. I never tried it out because it was not official from MS.

    YMMV of course..

Have to kinda disagree here 'cause Microsoft's Frontpage works fine in OS's up to & including Windows 8.1 & works 99.99% in Windows 10 but crashes when opening a folder to insert a url; maybe it's because it's deemed an obsolete application!

I would have hoped that in developing a new OS, Microsoft would at least ensure that all current major application's functionality is maintained so as to encourage users to upgrade; currently there are a number of niggles which would prevent me upgrading from 7 to 10 unless they're fixed by Microsoft in Windows 10 & not to rely upon the 3rd party software developers.

Incidentally, I've installed Pale Moon which is obviously built on the Firefox platform & can't really see any reason to use in preference to Firefox (same goes for Waterfox).

The new Pale Moon seems to not like some of the FF plugins like it used to. PM is more independent now so I guess that's the reason.
