Win10 doesn't save my display prefs

So every time I reboot, the "language" icon is in the lower right, even though I've repeatedly told it not to display.

And there pretty much always seems to be programs that enable themselves at startup, even though I keep disabling them. I think programs do this after being updated, but is there any way to stop it, specially since Win10 forces updates on you?

I really don't want iTunes, and DropBox and 2 antivirus programs starting everytime I reboot

Hi, I quite agree it is really annoying when programs are so designed as to add themselves to startup without asking you.

Mike Lin's ancient Startup Monitor still works, and is really tiny. It detects such attempts and prompts you so you can decide to accept or not.

Sysinternals Autoruns offers the most comprehensive view of startups, including search- of course there are many other programs that do, so you can disable startups you don't want from their GUI, if supported, or by that means. Then Startup Monitor should trap any attempt to add startups thereafter.
