    wrong!

AudreyT: You make too many assumptions, and you assume people are stupid and don't know what they are writing, nor how to use simple age-old windows operating system procedures. FYI...My computer does the same thing. And don't try some kindergarten response on me, I've been fixing computers since the 80's. I'm guessing this issue has something to do with the Intel kernel vulnerability that all operating system owners had to patch this last update. Mine doesn't shut down either, and YES, all the damn settings are correct. (otherwise, why would they work fine for 3 years and stop working after the last Windows Update, ...BECAUSE THE UPDATE BROKE IT OF COURSE!!! (duh) If you want to do support on forums, you have to go a little deeper than surface level, or you are NOT qualified...at the very least, get information before you start assuming. There is a real issue here, and it's NOT SETTINGS!!!

Your computer is not shutting down at all. It is going into S1 sleep state.

So, how do you "shutdown" your computer?

From your description, it sounds as if you are doing this by pressing the power button. If so, then two things must be at work here: 1) your power button is programmed to put your computer to sleep (instead of shutting it down), 2) your BIOS is configured to put your computer into shallow sleep state (S1), instead of deep sleep state (S3).

The first recommendation would be: stop trying to use power button to shut down your computer. Use Start Menu. Select Power -> Shut Down and it should propely shutdown your computer.

If you really want to use power button to shutdown your compuer, then go to Control Panel -> Power Options. Select Choose what the power button does and then in the next window change the When I press the power button setting to Shut down.

Using older drivers as explained on previous posts on this thread worked for at some extension. Sometimes the laptop shutdown or restart properly. Other times not really.

But recently with one of Windows 10 updates, (i believe it was a big one on the last moth) the problem went away. It's fixed. I can shutdown, restart or sleep the laptop with no problems.

    I hope it help.

    Best regards

Check your Intel MEI version. I had the same issue on my laptop with MEI 11.0.0.xxxx installed and when I downgraded to version 9.5.15.1730 my issue got resolved.
Helllo everyone in the forum.....the problem solved with this way as the mbushnaq00 write. This problem came from the ssd cooperstion with intel mei driver because the ssd shutdown faster than the system need to terminating all the drivers....
