Replacing a laptop (log in MSAccount)

I log in with a pin to the current laptop. I'm replacing this laptop this week. Will it automatically show up in the list of equipment in my MSAccount?
I looked through tutorials but wasn't clear on exactly what topic this fitted into.
Do I continue to log in with the same pin with the new laptop.
(The desktop does not have a log in) The plan is to clear out and remove the original laptop from use.

PIN is individually set for each device. You can of course set the same PIN on new laptop, but it will not be automatically set on new laptop.

Other than that, in case you are using a Microsoft account to sign in to Windows and want to do that also on new laptop, check on old laptop that all sync options are turned on (tutorial), sign in to new laptop using the same MS account and turn all sync options on.

All your settings, themes and such will then be synced to new laptop. You can set the PIN on new laptop as soon as you have booted to desktop first time.

If you are using a local account on old laptop, you must set a password for that account on new laptop before you can set a PIN.

Very good! That's the reply content that I needed.
This info is heartening 'You can of course set the same PIN on new laptop, but it will not be automatically set on new laptop.' I now have almost automatic finger movement to the pin so I'm content that it can be retained.
The laptop is the item that I set up as a MS account in the beginning as it was the first to have Win10 installed but it is the desktop that was fine tuned with settings. If synching were to take place I'd do it with the desktop. Both machines are in MSAccount status. I just do not log into the desktop.
    Thanks for the input.

Just to clarify this a bit more, PIN is set for each account on a specific device, it is not saved and transferred to or connected to your Microsoft account. Therefore, you must set the PIN again on new laptop, but nothing prevents you from using the same PIN as you have on old laptop. This way your "automatic finger movement" will also work on new laptop.

I am doing it this way. I use the same PIN on all my machines, for same reason than you: I can sign in with my eyes closed even after a bottle of Scotch because the pattern, which keys on number pad I have to press and in which order, is already hard coded in my spine
