    :) Brink- you spotted the registry key I mentioned.. Clicking the 'Quiet hours' tile does no more and no less than the bat files. So, if some users see it switching on and off erratically, there is a root cause, and executing the bat file will not prevent that.

    Does this still happen if you do a clean boot?
    In safe mode?
    I.e. is anything interfering.

    Definitely happens after clean boot.
    I'll have to check safe mode....
