    Task switching in 10

WinKey-Tab should do what you desire.
It's like Windows 7, meaning a 'sticky' Alt-Tab but without the carousel effect.
Not quite as nice as 7, but very workable to see the apps that you have running and
to switch between any of those running apps by clicking on the one you want.
    Try it you'll like it.

And if you are a total mouse person, of course just click the task view, it will bring up the same screen.

Alt/Esc is the right keyboard shortcut for that task, if your system does not work, try to find out the app you are saying using it, and set it's keyboard shortcut in a different way.
Alt/Esc is not the right shortcut ... it does not show all of the apps in a way that W7/W8 did. Those showed all apps plus if you move your mouse over one of them it would expand it so you could read it.

WinKey-Tab does not expand the window like W7/W8 did. If you click on one of the apps it brings that app into focus ... it does not simply expand such that I can read it.

Alt/Esc doesn't do the same thing ... it only displays the apps that are not minimized.

Hi, for what it's worth- and I assume you've searched for it- there is this. I've not tried it, and whether it exactly gives you the behaviour you're looking for you'd have to check.

Apply with due caution- back up the registry key first. Note this refers to XP, but you may find sthg similar.

As I said earlier, alt-esc goes through a few screens but then stops working. Also it does not show a list of applications ... it just shows the non-iconized apps.

These get the XP style, not the W7 nor W8 styles.

Yep, and if I recall, the last article says what you want isn't possible...
