PC often doesn't return from sleep. Display stays black while it boots

Ever since the newest major update, my PC has stopped resuming from sleep. It'll boot up (I think) with the keyboard and mouse lit up but the screen always stays black. Takes a hard reset to get it running at which point the sleep data is gone and wasted. I've had allow hybrid sleep on or off, had USB suspend enabled and disabled, disabled fast boot and hardware fast boot. I changed a lot of settings I thought would be related and nothing. Nothing makes the slightest difference. Am I missing something? I really need to fix this as I rely on this thing to turn off overnight.

Hi wideawakepc, what I'd do is ether 1. Check to see if there's an update for the bios. I can't tell you exactly because I've only ever done it on XP. 2. Contact Microsoft because they offer free or only £25 (don't know in dollars) for support for Win10. Hope this helps☺

BIOS is the latest. And I'm sorry but why on earth would I pay for support already? Isn't that what this forum is freaking for?

Use Hibernate instead of Sleep Mode. Hibernate can be found in the Power Options of the Control Panel. Then select "Choose what the power buttons do." Then click on the link allowing the grey check marks to be checks. Once you do this, the button will show up in the Start Menu.

Sorry if I sounded rude with my last post. This does seem to be a viable workaround and does it with no issue. Just isn't nearly as fast as sleep mode though. I see a lot of random posts about sleep problems with Windows 10 and starting to wonder if anyone with this problem has actually fixed it.

Mine also doesn't wake up after opening the lid after it has been that way over night. What I do is use the FN key and sleep key and the power button goes out. Then I repeat and it loads up.
