    Desktop and Toolbar constantly refreshing

I know this problem has been posted here a million times, but no other solution has yet worked for my computer. I have a Dell Inspiron N5110 that I just upgraded to Windows 10 yesterday. It's been working mostly without a hitch, but I've run into the dreaded "constant refresh" problem with the desktop and toolbar. It happens maybe every minute or so. I can use the computer just fine for the most part, but when I'm gaming, the refresh will cause the game to minimize and return me to the desktop, which is extremely annoying. Anyone have any solutions to this? I haven't tried to turn the internet off yet to see if the problem persists, but I'm sure it wouldn't. I'll also post my laptop's specs if it helps.

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2450M CPU@2.5 GHz
    RAM: 6 GB
64 Bit Operating System, x64-based processor
    Intel HD Integrated Graphics 3000

Hi HotwingsFTW i had the same issue with my older Dell n5110 Laptop and tried many things. one of which was to try and update the graphics drivers as i thought that was the issue. but I solved it when i found a different solution. Check id you have IDT Audio on your machine if you do simply uninstall this then restart your machine you will find that your sound still works and the annoying desktop refresh will be fixed. this was driving me crazy but all well now.
    Hope this works for you

I registered here just to say that I LOVE YOU TIM W. Worked perfectly after a couple days of troubleshooting. HP Probook 4530s upgrading from 7 pro to 10. Saved my laptop.

I too registered just to say thanks for this tip. I was upgrading a friend's laptop to 10, after a day of removing a pile of crapware to get it to upgrade, and everything was running smooth except for this issue. While not OS breaking, it was very annoying. Thanks much!

Tim W, thank you so much. I installed Win 10 on my Dell n5110 Laptop a few months ago and went back to Win 7, because of this issue. I upgraded to Win 10, yesterday and found your solution. It works like a dream.
