When you upgrade from 7 to 10 that's left over but when you do a clean install of 10 the hack is needed.

Mine doesn't have an entry for Windows Photo viewer, just says Photos which is a Store app.

If you use the registry hack I posted it will show up. I used that when I did a clean instillation of 10.

Ah I see, I didn't know this, apologies. I'm guessing that the update removed the old photo viewer and that's why he's getting missing DLL errors.
