Thanks very much for the solution ! Like others I had been searching for a way to remove the blue rectangle in windows without realising that Dell Premier Colour even existed!

A great relief to be rid of this annoyance

I had this same issue but with an MSI computer. I have been looking for a resolution for over a month now and finally found this thread. It is a similar menu for MSI users called "TRUE COLOR" under "TOOLS" where you deselect the "Desktop Partition On" option. Problem resolved. Annoyance gone.
    Thank you!!!
This was driving me CRAZY with my new MSI, and you have given me what I needed to fix the issue. Thanks for working on this and posting so that we could benefit from your knowledge! *bows with gratitude* -- El

    Thanks tons to socalemc!
I to own an MSI laptop and would have never ever found this on my own. MSI, a builder of very expensive high end laptops, should know better.

Agreed..I also have a MSI computer. How I found the fix:
On the far lower right where your power, internet connections and other icons are, there is an option "MSI True Color". Click it. The pop up has options to simply change the color scheme but at the bottom it should have a down arrow and a "Show settings". Click it. Then one of the tabs in that window should say "Tools". One of the options in there is "Desktop Partitions", deactivate this. The annoying grey snap/partition widows will be gone.
