I like Metro. I always did. I don't see why Microsoft needs to do away with something just to mollify a few loud complainers. I'm happy for Metro-haters to delete all that stuff and have a system they like. But I want the system I like too. Both can very easily coexist.
I think it's a bit more than a few loud complainers otherwise Windows 8/8.1 wouldn't have been the disaster it's been!
Hmm. “The disaster it’s been!”? I wouldn’t exactly say disaster. I’d like just a penny of the 200 million copies sold to date. Wouldn’t you? Besides, MS can’t help it if someone doesn’t get the concept. 
Microsoft has sold over 200 million licenses for Windows 8
After many months of silence about the sales of Windows 8 we finally have an update on that figure.
It was May of last year when Microsoft revealed that over 100 million licenses for Windows 8 had been sold. That means only 100 million more have been sold in the subsequent 9 months.

Windows 10 is aimed at satisfying both interfaces but still doesn't provide a start menu that's as functional as Windows 7.
Unless Windows 10 can offer something better than Windows 8, it's not going to tempt many to update.
Hmm, again. A lot of people continue to use XP. Do you think they will move onto Vista or 7? How about those using Vista? Move onto 7? And those on 7? Time is always running out. They’ll move to something. Even on to 8.1. MS wins any which way.

If you are a "power user" like HG, it does not matter. He is galactic.
Anytime you want to come up with a list of tasks that both of us know, whs, we'll time performing them. With the speed of that mouse in your videos I think I can beat you hands down.
BTW, the touch-centric Modern UI has actually made using the keyboard much easier to use for navigation.
I am 100% certain that you can beat me in any speed competition. With my arthritic hands it takes me 10 minutes each morning to grab my pills. And on the keyboard I am not much faster.

I on other hand, would spend more time looking for those keys than actually pushing them ad to that having to remember all the keystrokes, All that makes it easier for me to do as much as possible using mouse.

I have found that a quality keyboard help these old figures. Some how even a quality keyboard doesn't spell any better than the cheep old ones I have.
I typed for years when I was in the navy 5 letter encrypted groups. When doing this you are all over the keyboard and their is no pattern like typing known words. I will blame my poor spelling on those little 5 letter random groups.
Do you think I have a good case that should go to court? I could use the money and the spelling lessons.

Just accept that some people find it difficult to accept change, whereas those of a more adventurous and inquisitive nature are drawn to these new technological advances.

I love change, but I have a deal breaker prerequisite. The new thing absolutely has to be better than what it replaces. Otherwise, what's the point.
Change for change sake....??? Not so much.
And imho, tifkam was not better than whet it tried to replace. Not even close to "as good as".
Given its relative failure, seems quite a few share my opinion.
Perhaps if they had given more of a choice, allow folks an easier time running them side by side, folks may have been more tolerant. I'm sure I would have. But, alas, they tried to ram it down our throats as a fait accompli....
And that type of arrogance just pisses people off.
I know some people do like the metro style, I get that.
But to me, I find the tiles just look freakin childish. Sorry, but that is just my personal opinion on how they appear to me.

Last time I checked you had a choice? Windows 7 with a Start Menu or Windows 8 with a Start Screen. Windows 7 support hasn't ended so nobodies forcing you to use Windows 8. I'm not trying to a smart @ss or stir things up up but this rammed down our throats stuff gets old. I get that some don't like it, and apparently so did Microsoft, as they made changes. You can't please all of the people all of the time.
And IMHO the Start Screen is far better than the Start Menu.
