Dissapointed but not suprised.

Please stop arguing, everyone is entitled to their own opinion don't force people into having the same opinion as yours just because yours is different (just a fact).

Nobody is arguing. Just having friendly discussions. :)

Speaking of UI - in most cases I have to use a high contrast theme (see example below) because of my bad eyes. In Windows 10TP it is not fully implemented yet but I am sure they will fix that.
Setting up a high contrast theme is no rocket science but getting the right color mix is a bit finagle. I was thinking to make a little tutorial on how to set up high contrast themes. Do you guys think there would be any interest in that. To date, I have never seen anybody else using high contrast.

Can that be done in Win 7?

Yes this can be done in Windows 7 but the seeting options are different and more finagle than in 8.1 and 10. But with Patience you can do it.

I use high contrast from time to time at night, black background for everything with red accenting for the active windows and hyperlinks and such. MUCH easier on the eyes and would be nice if that was how it was already with a theoretical dark theme for Explorer.

Sometimes I like to play with the colors. :)

Ok guys let me add my 2 cents worth; MS can't satisfy everybody, we know and MS have to make decisions on their own,but i think they should follow the majority anyway.
Now if they had an easy way of adding different desktops! that would resolve all complains, just like Ubuntu/Linux does,
i for example run Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, on one of my Desktops, and i can with a simple log out, use other desktops,Unity, gnome classic flashback,XFCE,Mint, and so on,all this can be previous downloaded from the Ubuntu Software center,if MS could do this then most complains would just vanish, we all know well, even with these options still there will be people complaining, there are few people that don't want to move a muscle to make Software configurations, want everything done on Plug&Play, and there are those that enjoy play around with software, myself i like plug&play, the only difference i don't complain much.

You are talking about something different. I am talking about high contrast themes for people with vision problems. My vision is only 40% and on many screens (especially small ones) I could not operate without a high contrast theme.
But I agree that changing desktops in Linux is easy. And there is also a great number of different themes and easy to download - e.g. in Mate you just say Apt install mate-themes.

There's allot to like about how easy it is to customize Linux with common menu options and most are image base/ png....
No ico/... crap.
