Speak for yourself, please do not include me and many other Windows enthusiasts in your generalizing "We mouse / keyboard users". Seriously. You do not represent me and my opinion.

I thank Microsoft for the tiles. Apart of mobile devices, I have never had nor will I in foreseen future get a touchscreen. Yet I like the Modern apps with their tiles very much. I welcomed the Start Screen in Windows 8 as incredibly innovative, flexible and fast way to use my Windows with wheel mouse and keyboard, liked the idea even more in 8.1 and now finally in Windows 10 Microsoft has found the way that really speaks to me. I can switch between a full screen Start and a somewhat smaller, use the apps Modern and desktop alike in so customizable and flexible way that it makes me wonder how could I manage my Windows before this.

If I remember correctly he got a lot of flack for that comment the first time. I personally don't think of them as Apps. I click the tile and the program or app I want is launched. The same way I click an Icon on my taskbar. I don't really car if its Metro or Desktop as long as it does what I want. I use some metro apps and I use desktop programs. One doesn't interfere with the rest, not for me anyway. IMHO, I think we are way past ever getting a Windows 10 that looks like Windows 7. I'm not saying don't stop asking for it, if that's what you want, I don't. But I think its just a wasted effort at this point. I personally don't like the compromise Start Screen/Menu in 10 now. Hopefully I will be able to use just the 8.1 like Start Screen.

You've got that right and it's only going to get worse......
Microsoft is in the advertising business now and not interested in regular business.
It's going to take some serious competition to make them change.
Actually they have ruined the internet and the computer industry.
